Low Water Pressure: Fixture, House, Meter, or Service Line?
Start by finding out how much of the property is affected. Low pressure at one fixture is nearly always inside that fixture or its shutoff; weak pressure at every tap points instead at the main valve, a pressure-reducing valve, the service line, or the public supply.

Low water pressure: start with the pattern
Two houses can report identical symptoms and have completely different problems. What separates them is the pattern — where, when, which temperature, and how fast it arrived.

- When? All day, only at certain hours, or only when something else runs.
- How fast? Overnight, or so gradually you only noticed this month.
Write your four answers down before reading further. A weak shower with strong hot water and a normal kitchen tap is a different problem from a house that lost pressure everywhere on Tuesday.
One fixture or every fixture?
If only one fixture is weak, the cause is almost certainly in that fixture, its aerator, or its shutoff valve — not the house supply. Nothing upstream can selectively starve one tap and leave the others alone.

Test the scope in ten minutes:
Run the cold tap at the affected fixture and note how weak it is.
Run cold at a fixture on a different floor or the opposite end of the house.
Run cold at an outside hose bib, which usually sits closest to the main.
Repeat on the hot side at two fixtures.
Ask one neighbour whether their pressure changed.

Hot water only or hot and cold?

Cold snaps deserve their own note.
