Lining also requires branch connections to be reinstated from inside. Eligibility for any no-dig method is decided at the property after the camera run, not from a description over the phone.

Why no-dig does not mean no access or restoration

Trenchless describes what happens to the pipe, not what happens to your yard. Every no-dig method still opens ground somewhere.

  • Access pits, usually at both ends of the run and sized for equipment and a person.
  • A pit at or near the building, which can land in a patio, walk, or planting bed.
  • Interior access where the line leaves under a slab.
  • Reinstated branch connections after lining.
  • A cleanout added or rebuilt as part of the work.

Ask for every pit location marked on a sketch before you approve the scope. “No trench” and “no damage” are different promises, and only one of them is usually being made.

Should the camera video be included with the estimate?

Yes, on any recommendation involving excavation or replacement. Ask for the recording rather than stills alone, with a visible footage counter and a stated starting point. What restoration work is normally separate?
